Practice report: Walk-ons flood field

TideSports.com The Alabama football team continues preparations for the season this week, and starting Wednesday, the equipment staff had a lot more gear to hand out. With classes at UA now in session, a group walk-ons joined the 105 players who endured Fall camp to push the roster to around 130. A few notes from the practice:
*** Josh Chapman again practiced in a group with Brandon Deaderick and freshman Luther Davis. Starting nose guard Brian Motley participated in drills with the unit but remains in a black non-contact jersey with a broken bone in his hand.
*** Kicker Jamie Christensen wore a black non-contact jersey for the third practice day in a row. Christensen has a quadriceps strain.
*** Freshman DL Nick Gentry practiced with the team for the first time, but the Prattville native wore a black non-contact jersey. Gentry is recovering from shoulder surgery.
