The giant junior college transfer has begun to make his move a week into workouts. This was a no lose situation for Texas Tech because if Johnson didn't or doesn't materialize, it's no big deal since he walked on. But so far the results have been very favorable. Johnson has seen the majority of his reps at right tackle and is in the mix to crack the rotation with

Stephen Hamby and
Lonnie Edwards.

First off, Harrell is a flat-out stud at quarterback. In talking to another college coach this week that has some working knowledge of Texas Tech and this offense he indicated the inexperience at offensive line isn't as big a deal as everyone is making it out to be. Why? Because Harrell will get rid of the ball very quickly. Harrell also has this team focused and on the same page. Every time a practice concludes Harrell calls the team together they all break in unison by shouting the word "family".
