Illinois shooter lands IU offer

Peegs.com If betting was available in Vegas on the guy most likely to knock down seven threes in a game, the smart money would have been on Matt Roth from Washington (Community HS), Illinois. Playing with the loaded Indiana Elite/Team Indiana squad led this week by the likes of Tyler Zeller and Bud Mackey, the 6-foot-3, 175-pound Roth knocked down seven trifectas Monday night in a pool game win over the Playaz Gold team.
The reason Roth would have been the smart money bet is the fact that his high school shooting numbers from his junior season are simply outstanding. In 29 games he knocked down 143 three-pointers, just three shy of breaking the Illinois state record. And it is not like he just takes a bunch of threes because his beyond the arc shooting percentage exceeded 48%. In one game for Washington he knocked down 12 treys.
On Monday night Roth was feeling it so much in the game that many of his attempts were a good five feet or more behind the three-point line.
