Sooners add in-state punter
Many have questioned over the years Oklahoma's focus on it's own in-state recruiting, but the Sooners in recent years haven't branched far to find many great special teams prospects. It seems the class of 2008 will be no different as Oklahoma has picked up it's future punter from within the state borders.
That player is Tulsa Union kicker/punter Tress Way. Word got out last week that Way might have picked up a Sooner offer but in the past few days that offer changed into a commitment.
"Oklahoma sent me an invitation to the kicking camp, as a showcase kind of deal. I thought I had a pretty strong showing. I talked to coach (Bob) Stoops, and Uwe Von Schamann and he told me to call him in the next few days. When I did he said they wanted to offer me a full ride," he explained.
