Georgia has the best depth they have had under head coach Dennis Felton heading into the 2007-08 season. Looking over the positions Georgia has six guards, five forwards, and two centers for next season. Seven of the returning players have started games and five talented freshmen to add to the mix. The two biggest additions are forwards Jeremy Jacob and Jeremy Price who should see immediate playing time next season as well as Dunwoody native point guard Zac Swansey. Coach Felton has a lot of different pieces to mix and match as he attempts to bring the Georgia Bulldogs back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2002.

The expectations for Georgia are growing and looking at the weapons on the team, the Bulldogs could be in a good position to make a NCAA Tournament run. Here is a look at the 2007-08 Georgia basketball team.

Dave Bliss
Center
Height: 6-foot-10
Weight: 255 pounds
Hometown: Wausau, WI
High School: Wausau West
Bliss has been plagued by back problems for the last few years, but he is solid backup center or spot starter who plays with a lot of intensity for 10-15 minutes a game. He plays tough defense and tends to play up in big games. Bliss started 20 games (played in 32) last season averaging four points per game and 3.2 rebounds per game in 12.9 minutes per contest.

Takais Brown
Forward
Height: 6-foot-8
Weight: 245 pounds
Hometown: Flint, MI
Prior School: Southeastern Illinois College
Brown a forward/center played well in his first season at Georgia after transferring from Southeastern Illinois Junior College. He is a solid frontcourt scorer with good low post moves who was hampered last season by a lack of a seconding post scoring option. Brown is a decent defender and a good rebounder who had several double-doubles last season. Brown averaged 14.2 points per game and shot 56 percent from the field in his first season at Georgia.

Sundiata Gaines
Guard
Height: 6-foot-1
Weight: 200 pounds
Hometown: Jamaica, NY
High School: Archbishop Molloy
After three seasons in Athens, Gaines has finally developed into a solid SEC point guard. The Bulldogs struggled mightily last season when Gaines went down with an ankle injury and he drives the Georgia offense. Gaines is a good all-around player who averaged 5.7 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game last season along with 10.5 points per game. With freshman Zac Swansey behind him this season, Gaines should be able to rest some instead of logging so many minutes like he did last season.
