Earlier this week Frank Beamer made a stop through Matthews (N.C.) Butler to check out their trio of defensive backs. One of them they saw was 6-foot-1, 177-pound safety Robert Blanton.

"Coach Sherman and Beamer came by on Wednesday," he said. "We didn't talk much with them, he just watched us throw the ball around and stuff. For me, it was the same as having any other assistant there."

Blanton went on to discuss the Hokies a bit more.
