Bulldogs lose defensive star to grades
The Georgia Bulldogs have a huge hole to fill in their secondary with the announcement Thursday afternoon by head coach Mark Richt that senior cornerback Paul Oliver is academically ineligible for the 2007 season. Oliver failed to make the required academic progress that NCAA instituted for college players to be eligible to play in the fall season.
Oliver will be allowed to continue his education at Georgia if he pleases, but he will not have anymore eligibility to play football with the exception of a bowl game after the fall semester grades come in.
