Keeping up with the Mc's (Colt/Stephen)
Don't be surprised if in the middle of the 2007 season-opener against SMU, Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell bows under center with a bug-eyed expression, straightens a non-existent tie, and barks "No respect! No respect! On two!"
After the treatment he's received from some quarters of the media, who could blame the guy?
We're only in the month of May, football season is still four months away, and already Harrell has been dissed by two prominent media outlets, Athlon's sports annuals, and Rivals.com, the very organization whose generosity puts corn dogs and Ranch Style Beans on the Yeager dinner table. If you didn't know any better and knew nothing more than that caption, you'd probably say, "Big deal. So Graham Harrell has to share the cover with Colt McCoy. Wake me with a real controversy."
Ah, but here's the rub. The two Lone Star quarterbacks gracing Athlon's glossy cover are not Graham Harrell and Texas's Colt McCoy; they are McCoy and Texas A&M's Stephen McGee.
