His coach calls him one of the better "true running backs" to come out of Destrehan (La.) High School and Jerico Nelson has the recruiting attention right now to be just that.

Nelson, the 5-foot-11, 205-pounder, had quite the junior season. He rushed for 1,069 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2006. Now, he says that he has verbal offers from several schools and has plans to take things slow with the recruiting process.
