NU Notes: Ganz and Lucky have big scrimmages
The Nebraska football team conducted another major scrimmage on Saturday morning inside the Hawks Championship Indoor Facility.
NU head coach Bill Callahan said the Husker scrimmaged for about 80 plays and two of the biggest standouts were junior quarterback Joe Ganz and junior running back Marlon Lucky.
Lucky arguably made the best play of the day when he put a juke move on sophomore safety Rickey Thenarse in the open field to score on a long touchdown run.
Callahan said overall, he was very impressed with several different aspects that came out of Saturday's scrimmage.
"Marlon (Lucky) made a real nice cut on one particular play," Callahan said. "We had a nice double move play by Frantz Hardy on a fourth down play. We had some good throws by Joey Ganz and Sam Keller today. Both guys are performing good and solid.
"I thought our offensive line stepped up, but our defensive line did better. I'm really encouraged from what I'm seeing from our defensive front and also from our linebackers."
