Charest drawing nationwide interest
Matthews (N.C.) Butler quarterback Jacob Charest is drawing nationwide attention for his passing talents, receiving recent offers from a pair of PAC-10 programs, along with some programs a little closer to home.
Charest was among the top signal callers at the Shrine Bowl Combine held on his home field this past weekend, demonstrating excellent arm strength to go with his 6-3, 191-pound frame during the drills portion of the event.
Showing solid lateral agility, Charest recorded a 4.35 second pro shuttle time, and he ran a decent 40-yard dash, coming in at 4.87 seconds. Proving that he still has work to do on his upper body strength, Charest lifted four repetitions of 185 pounds on the bench press.
