A&M practices in helmets and shorts for second day
Texas A&M hit the practice fields again Wednesday for its second day of spring practice once again in helmets and shorts. The team worked on position drills and then got together for one-on-one's and later scrimmaging situations.
The team starts off in position drills, and then get put into units with the quarterbacks working with the receivers on routes and the defense working on schemes. Then the quarterbacks and receivers work against defensive backs in one-on-one's while the linemen work against each other.
Then the team is split into offense and defense with each working on different plays and schemes. Afterwards the two come together for scrimmaging situations, working on everything they have put in against one another.
A couple players stood out today in practice. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill looked solid.
He was hitting receivers well in their routes and doesn't seem to fear throwing into coverage where he is good at hitting windows. He is still learning the ins and outs of the offense, but he is better at reading coverages than one would think a mid-term freshman would be.
