Christopherson talks MU
Marquette commit Scott Christopherson out of Melrose (Wisc.) Mindro High School is a talented 6-foot-2 shooting guard that will be part of the class of 2008 at MU. MarquetteWatch caught up with the neophyte, who plays his AAU ball for the Fox City Skillz, and he spoke about a number of things.
After a long and prosperous high school career, Christopherson can now focus on playing AAU ball and getting ready for his freshman year at Marquette.
"I'm just looking forward to the chance to play with guys like [recruit] Trevor [Mbakwe] and Dominic James," he said. "We'll have a great game next year; I'm looking forward to it."
Christopherson has noticed in his limited action with MU that the speed of the game is a little faster than that of high school.
"You can definitely notice it when you go down and play with them. But it's not really something you can do anything about; you just have to come out every day at practice, and go into every one of your games and try to dominate, and when that comes, it comes," he said.
The young shooting guard is a little in awe of what is to come, but he believes he can handle it.
"It's hard to fathom in a way," he said. "But in another way, it's really exciting, playing in the Big East, playing on national television just about every game. You know when it comes, it will be a lot of fun, but right now, I'm just enjoying my [AAU] season."
The young player also understands where he comes from and knows what he hopes his future holds at MU.
