Bulldogs back after day off
Mississippi State concluded spring practice number seven in shells, as no new guys were injured and no other guys received their numbers.
"First I like the way we are working and our attitudes, which was one of the things that we really wanted to get done this spring, an overall team attitude. We are trying to get everybody with the attitude that we are trying to get a little bit better everyday, and really getting the entire team from top to bottom, accountable for our success. I think we are working toward that everyday, of course when we started we knew we had to replace some guys on defense. They are coming along, but we still have a long way to go, but we are starting to come around there.
"Titus has stepped up over there, Chaney got hurt, and he is out and he will hopefully return after the break, Pegues, Fitzhugh, and Glanton have done an extremely good job. I feel a lot better about us at safety, and I feel like we have some ability at corner. We also got some depth in our secondary now," Coach Croom said.
"Offensively it starts with our offensive line, we have gotten better there. They got a surprise today, they thought they were going to come out and hammer the defense, but the defense stepped up today and gave them all they could handle. That group improved the last half of last season, and they got pretty good work ethic right now.
"Mike is throwing the ball well; he still has room for improvement as far as some certain things. We want him to be more specific on his drops, and he has come along way with that. We also wanted him to increase his percentage rate and decrease his interceptions, a lot of that has to do with him being able to take check downs and make good decisions. I am not worried at all about him throwing the football; he is throwing the ball extremely well," he stated.
