Dealing with disappointment is part of sports and for Tide basketball fans this week, there's been plenty of disappointment to go around. After the Tide showed a glimmer of hope in their home win over Ole Miss, a crushing loss in Starkville set them back yet again.
The Tide got off to a great start against Mississippi State on Sunday, pounding the ball inside to Richard Hendrix in what has become their bread and butter on the offensive end. Unfortunately, Hendrix picked up two quick fouls and watched from the bench as his team spent the rest of the half falling apart.
Still, things looked positive with the Tide responding with a big run to begin the second half. That run was immediately followed by one of the Tide's longest scoring droughts of the season that allowed Mississippi State to pull away from the Tide early on in the second half and never look back.
