Afflalo ready to compete
Rick Kimbrel
BruinSportsReport.com One of the most consistent players on the Bruin team this season has been Arron Afflalo. Night in and night out, Afflalo has been steady, consistent and clutch. It is hard fathom where the Bruins would be without Afflalo on the court this season. Not only for what he does on the court but his leadership has been outstanding too.
Afflalo spent a few moments with the media on Tuesday and you can sense his leadership skills with the way he answers questions.
What is your favorite part of Pullman?
Afflalo: "The Washington State gym. There's not too much going on around there. Usually it has been our first game so we are fortunate to spend most of our time in UDub's area.
"It is going to be a fun game. It is going to be a great environment. There is a lot on the line right now and I'm looking forward to it."
Can you talk about their guards? Ben Howland said they were maybe in the top 10 in the country. What do you like about them?
Afflalo: "There's not a whole lot not to like about those two guys. They are very competitive and they play to win. I think that is what is most important. They have all around skills. They are leaders. They are mature. That's a very good backcourt and an experienced one."
Arron you have been playing at a high level all season. Is there another level you can take it going down the stretch or is this it?
Afflalo: "Of course you can always continue to get better and hopefully that's what I continue to do as an individual and that's my goal to continue to improve but as I improve, I think this team will improve and that's what it is all about."
