Auburn's quickness too much for LSU
Throw away the theory that LSU is a better basketball team without Glen Davis.
With Big Baby sitting at home nursing his leg injury, LSU was able to stay with Auburn for slightly more than 20 minutes Wednesday night.
An Auburn spurt which began slightly more than two minutes into the second half sent LSU to an 80-68 defeat.
The LSU defeat, along with South Carolina's home loss in overtime to Vanderbilt, sets up a meeting for the Southeastern Conference cellar Saturday night at the PMAC. Both LSU and the Gamecocks are 4-11 in league play.
Coach John Brady's philosophy is built upon defense and rebounding. LSU handled the boards against Auburn. However, stopping Auburn was another matter. Auburn made 50 percent of its field goal attempts, including 53 percent (8-of-15) on 3-pointers.
