Battle takes team to semis
The Penn State men's basketball team hasn't even finished its regular season and fans are already clamoring for next year.
Of course, riding a 13-game losing streak - the longest in school history - with the possibility of making it 16 in all, can do that.
Tonight, the Nittany Lions will tip-off at the Bryce Jordan Center for the last time this season at 7 p.m. when the Iowa Hawkeyes come to town. Outside of a regular season finale at Indiana on Saturday night and a first round game in the Big Ten Tournament, it will be one of the last chances the team has to break it's current stretch of absolute futility.
The truth is, Talor Battle and Jeff Brooks, two highly-rated high school seniors who will embark new careers as Nittany Lions this June, are well aware of it.
While the Nittany Lions have been in what can only be considered the most dismal stretch in Penn State history, Battle has been helping his Bishop Maginn High School team do exactly the opposite this season.
