Worse than Caddyshack II
They always say sequels to a classic movie are a mistake.
Remember Caddyshack II? Blues Brothers 2000? The Sting II? Some of the worst movies ever made, which followed truly amazing films.
Monday night's Oklahoma State-Texas rematch was no different. It too followed up a classic - a 105-103 triple-overtime slugfest that had everything you'd want in a game - just like those sequels. And also just like those sequels, OSU/UT II sucked. At least for Cowboy fans.
The final cut of this sequel was an 83-54 win for Texas, which hooked the No. 18 Cowboys so bad they might as well have been a shower curtain. It was pretty much a disaster for OSU in front of 15,815 at the Erwin Center.
Things didn't start off too badly for the Pokes (19-6 overall, 5-5 Big 12), as they overcame an early 6-0 deficit to close the score to 13-10 after a lay up down low by Mario Boggan. The Cowboys had success early because they were penetrating inside and playing pressure defense (UT had six turnovers the first 10 minutes of the game), but the Horns would hit a key shot anytime the Cowboys closed the gap.
