12th hour decision
The stories for the 2008 recruiting season are beginning to heat up and fans are beginning to shift their focus towards the state's top juniors. With several Big 12 programs already having hosted junior days, and the Texas Longhorns set to hold their first event in less than one week, a handful of the best players in the Lone Star State have already fallen off the board.
Yes, the chase for the top prospects is already extremely interesting. Lest everyone forget, there are still some hot prospects in the 2007 class trying to make their decisions as National Signing Day rapidly approaches.
But the list is dwindling.
Christian Scott, the ultra-talented safety prospect out of Dallas, has taken his name out of the recruiting pool, giving Texas yet another high-profile commitment on Sunday evening. The Skyline product had been considering several other schools, including Oklahoma, LSU, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State, but he chose the Longhorns after thorough consideration over the past couple of weeks.
