Roping the Longhorns
Oklahoma State played so badly at Kansas that its next game against Nebraska was canceled.
Well, that's not the exact truth, but it is what happened to the Cowboys.
After an 87-57 buzzsawing at the hands of the Jayhawks last Wednesday, OSU looked to cleanse itself of that game by rebounding against the Cornhuskers, but mother nature stepped in. She cast a swath of ice and sleet that froze central Oklahoma and prevented the Cowboys' charter flight from leaving Oklahoma City in time for the game, which was to take place Saturday. The game was then postponed to a future date which has still yet to be determined.
So with the loss to KU and non-game to NU behind them, the No. 12 Cowboys (15-2 overall, 1-1 Big 12) return home to Stillwater, where the ice and sleet is still on the ground, but the game will go on as planned. And entering the ice planet Hoth will be the Texas Longhorns, which always seems to be a thorn in the side of the Pokes inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. The game is set for an 8 p.m. tip time and will be televised nationally by ESPN2. Dave O'Brien and former Utah head coach Rick Majerus will call the action.
As said before, the 21st-ranked Horns (13-3, 3-0) cause trouble in Stillwater. In the Rick Barnes era, UT is 4-4 inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. That's become a frustrating note for Cowboys fans, from the Brian Boddicker elbow-to-the-neck of Fredrik Jonzen to Brad "Brokeback" Buckman.
