Auburn hopes to find shooting touch vs. LSU
Last Saturday, the Auburn basketball team won its Southeastern Conference opener against Vanderbilt, and looked good doing it.
Wednesday, the Tigers lost by 27 at Kentucky - and looked bad doing it.
What's the difference? What makes AU look like a smoothly running offensive machine one night and a disaster a few days later?
In a word: Shooting.
Auburn (11-6, 1-1 SEC) depends on jump shots. The Tigers don't have much choice; without a reliable post-up player, the best way for AU to score is to space the floor and find mismatches or open shooters.
