Auburn opens SEC play with win over Vandy

AuburnSports.com Auburn's Josh Dollard thinks of himself as a shooter.
Entering Saturday's Southeastern Conference opener against Vanderbilt, the numbers didn't exactly bear Dollard out. He was just 3-for-19 from 3-point range this season.
His long-range shooting had been so bad, Vanderbilt coach Kevin Stallings advised his team to play off Dollard, giving him open looks at 3-pointers. It didn't pay off.
Dollard hit four of the five 3-pointers he attempted Saturday, and the entire Auburn roster shook out of a shooting slump. Thanks to an onslaught of 3-pointers, the Tigers beat Vanderbilt, 68-65.
Stallings could only shake his head after the game.
