Many Tigers contribute in rout
As expected, LSU easily handled an outmanned opponent for the second straight night Thursday at the PMAC.
This time, Mississippi Valley State of the SWAC, fell victim to the Tigers by a 92-58 score.
As LSU continues to prepare for the opening of its Southeastern Conference schedule in less than two weeks, improvement from a number of players is needed.
Glen Davis supplied the usual numbers with his eighth double double of the young season - 19 points and 13 rebounds. Davis, who missed four of his 11 field goal attempts, also contributed four assists and three steals. The assists equaled his career high.
But, Davis received support from many of his teammates. Tasmin Mitchell finished with 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field, while Garrett Temple ended with seven points and seven assists.
Dameon Mason had his second straight double-figure scoring game with 13 points. Darnell Lazare provided ten points and seven rebounds, while reserve Terry Martin scored ten points. Magnum Rolle had eight points and four rebounds in 15 minutes.
"We need that type of scoring game in and game out," Mitchell said. "We need all five guys dishing the ball and all five guys being unselfish. We defended the ball well and had good shot selection. We played as a team."
