Auburn suffers worst-ever loss at B-E
Jeff Lebo knew his team was in for a tough game Friday.
Lebo, Auburn's head basketball coach, expected No. 13 Texas A&M to give his Tigers a stern test. But it wasn't as if this was AU's first rodeo.
The Tigers had already been tested against No. 4 Wisconsin, No. 7 Pittsburgh and No. 15 Oklahoma State. AU lost all three games, but stayed competitive in each one. A nationally ranked opponent was nothing new.
Friday's game, though, was a very new experience for the Tigers: A humbling 87-58 loss. It was the biggest loss in Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum history and Auburn's worst home defeat since 1952.
