Sources: Jevan Snead looking to transfer
When Jevan Snead committed Texas a little more than one year ago and enrolled in January, he and a good portion of the Longhorn fan base had big dreams of the talented quarterback leading the Texas offense. It turns out those dreams and aspirations may be short-lived.
Sources indicated to Orangebloods.com on Wednesday that Snead has asked to be released from his scholarship, capping months of speculation on Snead's future with the Longhron program. The decision frees the freshman for a transfer to another program, with TCU, Houston and Louisville already being rumored as possible destinations.
Jaylon Snead, Jevan's father, said Wednesday night that he could not confirm the transfer, and the family was not discussing the rumors.
"We're not talking about it. I haven't talked about it with any news service. It's not a subject that we've been openly discussing with anyone," Mr. Snead said. "If something's going to be announced, it should come from the football office."
