The Georgia Bulldogs (2-1) made quick work of South Carolina
State (0-3) in Stegeman Coliseum Tuesday evening winning 105-60. Georgia had
their first back-to-back 100-point games since the 1993-94 season when they
did it against Western Carolina and Bethune-Cookman.

The star of the night for the Bulldogs was sophomore guard
Mike Mercer who scored 26 points in 26 minutes. Mercer has scored double
digit points in every game this season for Georgia.

"I thought Mike was really in a groove playing with
good poise and purpose. He rarely got out of control and that shows a lot of
improvement on his part because that was his biggest thing coming in. He needed
to learn how to play under control, but still play fast and be quick to use
his abilities and his athletic gifts," said head coach
Dennis Felton
about Mercer's play Tuesday night.

Mercer who started the season off zero for eight on three-point
attempts hit five of eight three-pointers and had six assists and zero turnovers
in the easy victory over South Carolina State.

"The thing I love about Mike's game tonight
is that he had six assists and zero turnovers and that shows great maturity
on his part," said Felton.

Mercer is the leading scorer for the Bulldogs through
their first three games averaging 18.5 points per game this season.

Georgia Moves the Rock Around

Starting point guard, Sundiata Gaines and his
backup Mike Mercer combine for 15 assists and just two turnovers in the victory.

Gaines has 26 assists this season and just six turnovers
through the first three games.

"We really gave Sundiata a big pat on the back between
this game and last game and we were talking about the fact that he is averaging
six assists per game to one turnover. I am really proud of him for that,"
said coach Felton. "He did not have to play a whole lot tonight and he
got those nine assists in 23 minutes so imagine what he could have done if he
had played his normal amount of minutes."

As a team, Georgia recorded 32 assists in the win and
turned the ball over a season low of 11 times in the blowout.

Four Dawgs in Double Digits

Mercer (26 points), Takais Brown (13 points),
Terrance Woodbury (13 points), and Levi Stukes (10 points)
each hit the double figure mark against South Carolina State.

Twelve different Bulldogs scored in the game including
Corey Butler and
Josh Stephens scoring their first baskets
of the season off the bench in the final minute of the game.

The Bulldogs shot a season high 61.8 percent from the
field and hit 12 of 21 three-pointers attempted.

"Our good shooting even from 3-point range was a
byproduct of moving the ball ahead to open people and sharing the ball in the
half-court making extra passes," said Felton of the team's improved
shooting.

Georgia has scored 100 points in both games Brown has
played this season.

"I would not say that I am the key to the team scoring
100 points and no one person is the key it is more of a team effort,"
said Brown. "I felt a lot more comfortable tonight because in the first
game I felt like I had to show the world my game. I got too comfortable and
I had to kick myself to pick it up tonight."

Staring Five

The Bulldogs began the game with their smaller lineup
for the second straight game starting Rashaad Singleton,
Steve Newman, Mike Mercer, Levi Stukes, and Sundiata Gaines.

Former Bulldog Jonas Hayes was on the
South Carolina State bench as an assistant coach Tuesday night.
