The Georgia Bulldogs Men's Basketball program got an huge lift Wednesday afternoon with the commitment of Chris Barnes a three-star 6'8" 210 power forward from College Park (Ga) Riverdale.
The soft-spoken Barnes ended all the speculation about other schools saying that, "yes I am committed to Georgia."
Barnes picked Georgia over Oklahoma and Kentucky saying, "I think Georgia is a good program and I like coach (Dennis) Felton and his style of play. I like Georgia better than Oklahoma or Kentucky."
Barnes sees himself playing the power forward for the Bulldogs joining JUCO sensation
Takais Brown in the frontcourt next year.
"I feel like I can play the four and I am most comfortable as a power forward," said Barnes.
Barnes is considered the 10th best basketball prospect in the Georgia by Rivals.com.
"Chris Barnes is a guy that is a big, burley, power forward, but he also has
great springs for legs, and you do not see that too often with guys that are his
size, 6-foot-8, probably 240, and he can get off the floor incredibily quick,"
said Rivals.com basketball recruiting analyst Justin Young. "You mix that kind
of combination together and you have a guy that is going to be really good in
