Peterson praying for a speedy recovery
Adrian Peterson has experienced a whirlwind of emotions over the last five days. With his father out of prison for the first time since he was 12 years old, Peterson experienced the joy of playing in front of his dad for the first time in college when the Sooners took on Iowa State last Saturday.
But before the game was over, Peterson's world came collapsing down in a pile of anguish and uncertainty. A broken collarbone put a sudden end to one of his greatest days as a college athlete.
"It was a very exciting time for me. I was excited and we were ready to get out there and play. It was the first time I remember coming out and trying to find somebody in the stands," said Peterson of his emotions leading up Oklahoma's game with Iowa State.
Following the game, Peterson found himself in the Oklahoma training room with a season-ending injury. And a million and one thoughts dancing around in his head.
"They say everything happens for a reason and you sit there and you want to question God and what God does. It was kind of hard just dealing with it and thinking about it like that," said Peterson.
