South Carolina junior has offers
Chester (S.C.) athlete Charles Whitlock has picked up multiple early scholarship offers and figures to be one of the most highly-recruited prospects in the Palmetto State for the Class of 2008.
"He has offers from just about everybody that's seen him," Chester High head coach Victor Floyd said. "South Carolina, Clemson, Georgia, Kentucky, Marshall, North Carolina all have offered him. Georgia had him in their two-day camp and offered him (verbally) after watching him for just one day."
According to Floyd, that's not a surprise.
"(Whitlock) is a special kid," he said. "I coached in the U.S. Army All-American Game in 2002 and he's got the same stuff that those kids did."
Floyd says that Whitlock compares favorably to a player that he had in that game that year that currently is in the NFL.
