Thursday Practice Report
The Trojans held their final afternoon practice of the bye week on Thursday and the team looked like they needed a break.
Players were worn out from the long trip, academic requirements and of course their football duties.
After practice we talked to defensive end Lawrence Jackson about the game and the initial preparations for Nebraska.
Jackson was slowed through most of camp because of a groin injury.
"It was really the first week that I have been able to actually run around," Jackson said after practice. "Even up to the game I didn't feel 100%, I had to take special steps and deal with a lot of pain to get out there and perform. Now I feel good so I am excited about that."
This week the team practiced without full pads and with no scout team. The main focus was on competition and getting back to basics.
"It was just fundamentals, kind of like camp but at a different pace," Jackson said. "We are a mature team and we know how to handle it."
