OU's Wright almost giddy over DBs
Standing out on a football field during an Oklahoma practice, no one could mistake Bobby Jack Wright as having an ounce of giddiness to his personality.
Wright is one tough coach to please. He's not afraid of giving out praise to his players, but due to his constant pursuit of perfection, congratulations don't come along very often.
That's why it was so interesting to hear Wright's take on his secondary last week.
"It's really kind of interesting," said Wright of his defensive secondary. "It's kind of neat watching them develop."
The secondary has grabbed Wright's interest instead of his disdain because he hasn't had a chance to sit back and see a group of playmakers taking hold at his position.
Heading into the 2005 season, Wright was dealing with a converted running back in D.J. Wolfe, a true freshman in Reggie Smith and several other veterans who had yet to step up and take hold of a starting job.
