Jones ready to focus on his recruitment
Virginia's quest for a talented guard in the 2007 class is starting to take shape now that the July evaluation period has come to an end. One player who is right at the top of the Cavaliers' wish list is Jeff Jones. The 6-foot-4, 185-pounder from Monsignor Bonner High School in Drexel Hill, Pa., is working on narrowing his list of choices, and UVa is right in the mix. We caught up with Jones last night to get the latest on his recruitment.
It has been a busy spring and summer for Jones, who has played in numerous AAU tournaments and participated in a number of high profile camps. His schedule also included a tour of Europe in June, as he played on traveling team comprised of high school all-stars.
So how would Jones assess his play over the last few months?
"It was OK, there were a lot of ups and downs," he said. "There were times when I played great and other times when I didn't. But I'm always trying to get better."
