A new era of USC football is about to begin.

The fortunes of the 2006 Trojans will be closely tied to how quickly junior quarterback John David Booty acclimates himself under center.

After missing spring football due to back surgery, Booty got back into the mix this summer. He is now ready to sling the pigskin around in fall camp.

We talked to JD after the team scrimmaged El Camino College on Monday afternoon.
