Mayo heroic in star battle

Peegs.com There's heroic and then there's heroic. How about being down three and hitting a four point play against an opponent considered one of the best defenders in the country? That is exactly what O.J. Mayo did earlier today. After Eric Gordon hit a driving layup to put Mean Streets Express up 82-79 with 8.5 seconds left, Mayo took a pass on the left wing behind the arc and drilled a three-pointer while being fouled with 2.9 seconds left by Derrick Rose of Mean Streets. Mayo then calmly knocked down the free throw and his D-1 Greyhounds team escaped with a 83-82 victory.
