Tar Heels continue to roll
Ryan Bartow
TarHeelIllustrated.com Three star recruit Cameron Holland, a 6-3, 280-pound offensive guard from Pittsburgh, Pa., Perry Traditional Academy, chose North Carolina over Pittsburgh today. The talented lineman gave his verbal to the Tar Heels this afternoon.
"UNC had everything I wanted," Holland said. "I committed about five minutes ago. I want to major in pharmacy and they had that. I like the coaching staff, too."
He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.95 seconds and the pro shuttle in 4.63 seconds. Holland's bench press is 400 pounds and he squats 520 pounds.
He also has a 32-inch vertical.
"I lift three days a week and run twice" he said. "My strength, athleticism and footwork are my strong suits. UNC wants me to play guard."
Holland enjoyed a standout junior season in 2005, anchoring a Perry Academy offensive line that helped the Commodores produce an average of 36.2 points per game.
