In-state linebacker uses size to his advantage
Some would consider Alexander City, Ala., Benjamin Russell's Eltoro Freeman a bit undersized. At 5-foot-11, 200 pounds, he's obviously not the prototypical linebacker. But that's what he wants his opponents to think.
Believe he's too small. Underestimate him. He dares them.
"I take that as motivation and then I take it out on my opponent," said Freeman, who's known for flying to the ball and delivering a big hit. "The worst thing they can do is underestimate me."
Although opponents sometimes make the mistake of thinking he's too small, many colleges and recruiting services haven't.
Freeman has already picked up numerous offers including Auburn, Tennessee, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Louisville and Kentucky among others. He's also getting serious interest from Florida State, Florida, Georgia and Alabama.
