Brian Smith enjoys Michigan camp
What does a top recruit do to unwind after a whirlwind tour of midwestern school camps? In Overland Park (Kan.) St. Thomas Aquinas linebacker Brian Smith's case, return home and unwind with a bit of table tennis. In between points, Smith talked about his recent visit to Michigan and his camp experiences at a number of schools.
Smith, 6-2 and 220 pounds, racked up over 100 tackles during his junior year to earn offers from Nebraska, Kansas State, Missouri, Michigan State, Kansas, Texas Tech, Kentucky, Arizona State, and Washington. Iowa joined the list Tuesday, Smith learned, following his Monday trip to Iowa City. He camped for a day at U-M and also visited MSU on his trip.
"I've always been in love with Michigan. I was actually a Michigan fan before I was Notre Dame," Smith said. "There was a group of us who liked the team when we were younger - we really liked the jerseys. They were my second favorite. I'd always try to find out if they won on Saturday."
