Long time coming
It's been a while since Malcolm Williams had a chance to show what he's made of on the football field. The Garland wide receiver and early Texas Longhorn commitment missed the second half of his junior season due to a broken bone in his foot, and he wasn't able to take part in Garland's spring football season due to his track obligations that had him running all the way into the state meet.
But last weekend that all changed as Williams was able to take part in Texas' first mini-camp of the year, joining 19 other Longhorn commits for a day of workouts in Austin.
In talking to some of the camp participants, including a couple of guys that were on the pasing end of the one-on-one drills, Williams drew strong reviews for his performance. Williams himself is a bit harsher critic, saying he was satisfied with his showing, but adding that he still feels like he could have performed better.
