Bryan-Amaning headed to Montlake
There was a glaring similarity to his current school for Matthew Bryan-Amaning in considering Washington. Family. Lorenzo Romar emphasizes it, but the 6-9, 220-pound South Kent School, Conn., star had to see it first hand.
After 48 hours of hanging out in the U-District, 2007 power forward Bryan-Amaning, #69 Rivals150 for 2007, trusted his familial instincts and verbally committed to Washington on Saturday. "South Kent is like a family," said his coach, Raphael Chillious. "And that's what Coach Romar and him have developed. He gives that vibe and that sense that he's always (going to be) there for him." Bryan-Amaning checked out Seattle's perimeter, with an eye toward campus life and court chemistry. He also played with the team Thursday and Friday. "I got a good feel with Coach Romar and I got along with the players," he said. "I like the atmosphere and I like Seattle. Everyone seems to be into Husky basketball."
