Michigan targets Tulsa lineman
His talent notwithstanding, Tulsa (Okla.) Union offensive tackle Matt Romine had trouble envisioning what has happened thus far in the recruiting process for him. A 6-6, 275-pound prospect, Romine is well over a dozen offers from some of the top football programs in the country and the chance to talk with some of their head coaches has been an experience Romine calls "crazy."
One of those head coaches he noted was Michigan's Lloyd Carr. The Wolverines recently offered a scholarship when offensive line coach Andy Moeller was by the school in the month of May and that was followed up with a talk with Carr.
Michigan's offer is among 18 others from schools like Alabama, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Arkansas who all want the talented Romine to join their program.
