J.J. Hickson TOC Scouting Report
J.J. Hickson, a 6-8 forward from Marietta, Ga., put together a series of solid outings at the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions over Memorial Day weekend, although the strain of playing so many games in such a short period time ultimately wore him down a little bit.
Hickson played a key role in two victories for the World Wide Renegades to begin the TOC, and scored 20 points in his third game of the Tournament, a 66-59 defeat to the North Carolina Gaters.
Despite the loss to the Gaters, the Renegades advanced to the 16-team Tournament phase of the event, where they were ultimately eliminated by Julian Vaughn and his D.C. Assault team, 72-57.
Hickson ran out of gas in that particular contest, his fourth played in just over 24 hours, scoring just 5 points while spending a good chunk of the game in foul trouble.
