Hoops: Flint sophomore rising quickly
Some believe he has a chance to be one of the best point guards to hail from the state of Michigan ever. At the very least, Flint Southwestern's Anthony Crater - better known as "Noopy" - is already a high Division I major talent as a sophomore, and his game is only getting better.
Jeff Whitely has seen and coached a lot of outstanding point guards in the Flint area, but Crater has a chance to be every bit as special as his predecessors.
The hard work paid off during the season with a run to the Michigan Class B state semifinals. Crater averaged 14 points and 9.8 assists to help lead the way.
Crater has emerged as one of the top point guard prospects in his class, getting interest from U-M, Ohio State, Illinois, MSU, Xavier, Kansas, Marquette and several others.
