Milner hopes to keep UGA TE position going
With the track record of Georgia producing tight ends finding their way to NFL rosters, the expectations are always high for any tight end that straps on the shoulder pads for the Bulldogs. In the case of senior Martrez Milner, who is taking over for the departed Leonard Pope, the expectations aren't any different.
Milner (6-4, 240), who caught 14 passes for 291 yards and 2 touchdowns a year ago, adjusted to being the primary target at tight end in Georgia's offensive system during spring practice. Though he feels like some strides were made in that time period, he also feels there's plenty of work left to do before the Sept. 2 season-opener against Western Kentucky.
"There's always room for some improvement," Milner said. "After watching film of the (G-Day) game and going over some things with the coach, I feel like I have some improvement that I can make with my hands and with the blocking scheme."
