Daniel falls just short of perfection
On a perfect 80-degree day, Chase Daniel wasn't far from perfect. The sophomore was 11-for-12 for 120 yards and two touchdowns in the Black and Gold game, his debut as the Tigers' starting quarterback. But guess which play stood out to Daniel?
"It was wide open and my eyes got really big," Daniel said of his lone incompletion. "I just pulled the string on it. And that makes me mad. Believe it or not, you know, with the day that we had, that does make me mad because that would have been a big gain and we want to throw it deep like that and to miss on a deep ball like that was pretty frustrating."
Daniel was talking about a deep sideline pattern he'd thrown in the direction of Greg Bracey. Forget that he completed every other pass he threw, was not sacked and led the offense to a 60-43 win over the defense.
