With Tennessee barreling down the home stretch of the basketball season and making a strong push for an NCAA Tournament bid, recruiting hasn't exactly been at the forefront of the conversation. That changed a bit this week with one of the fastest rising prospects in the country on campus this past weekend.

Darius Thompson from Murfreesboro made a much anticipated unofficial visit to Knoxville on Saturday and the timing couldn't have been better from the Tennessee perspective.

What Thompson saw on Saturday was a sold out arena on senior night and a Tennessee team that handled SEC foe Missouri for it's 19th win of the season.

"It was a great trip, it really couldn't have gone any better. I guess the only thing is I wish we could have spent more time there, it was a little rushed, but it was a great atmosphere. I've not been to a college game with the crowd like that, it was impressive," Thompson said.
