Into the abyss

AuburnSports.com > AUBURN -- It's not like anyone, perhaps aside from some optimistic players, really came into this expecting big things. Georgia is playing well. It has a senior quarterback, a dominating linebacker, lots of players who are at least average in a Southeastern Conference context. And they had a berth in the SEC Championship game on the line.
Auburn? None of that. We all get that.
Yet a scoreboard that reads "Auburn 0, Georgia 38" is something that simply will not work. It doesn't compute. Yes, Georgia coach Mark Richt has won six of seven against the Tigers, which provides a sharp gauge of this rival's current-day tenor, but there's nothing that prepares an Auburn fan for a slaughtering at the hands of UGA.
