Fast start made loss worse

Texas Tech played a very poor game all the way around and based on what everyone has seen it should have beat a down Texas team Saturday in Lubbock.
It turned out to be a 31-22 loss for the Red Raiders.
Some of the mistakes, penalties in particular, are inexcusable. Quarterback Seth Doege deserved the ball in his hands more in second half drives after the running game proved to be inefficient midway through the third quarter at the latest.
But weird things happen weekly in the Big 12 unless you're Kansas State, apparently. Saturday's home loss was definitely a weird one. Tech played very average and average won't get a team that has had your number forever off your back.
