K-State only the next big game
With Texas Tech's big win at TCU this past week and a climb in the rankings, including the No. 14 ranking in the BCS standings, a big game on the horizon against Kansas State looks bigger as a kickoff clock in Red Raiders dropped below the five days and two hours mark Monday.
Tech isn't just playing a spoiler role after having clinched bowl eligibility last week. The team is playing for a share as the Big 12's leader record wise.
A top the top five Wildcats leads the league standings with a 7-0 overall record and a perfect 4-0 record. However, a loss Saturday could pull Kansas State back to the top of the pack with Tech, Oklahoma and potentially Oklahoma State if the Cowboys can defeat TCU on Saturday.
After Satuday's game in Manhattan, Kan., Tech finishes out the schedule with some hard, but winnable, games against Texas, Kansas, at Oklahoma State and Baylor at Cowboys Stadium so you can't rule out the Red Raiders as Big 12 Championship contenders just yet.
Beating Kansas State is central to any conference championship dream.
