Tech pleased with depth
Texas Tech has yet to play a game with everyone available at the receiver positions.
No problem. The Red Raiders have eight passing touchdowns and 726 yards through the air.
Tech entered the 2012 season ranked one of the best receiving corps in the country and while the defenses the squad has faced aren't up to the Big 12 caliber they have showed good signs.
Most notably, the unit is not taking plays off nor are they taking the foot off the accelerator.
"Tommy Mainord and Sonny Cumbie are to be commended for that," offensive coordinator Neal Brown said. "Our effort at wideout has been as good as I've been around these first two games. It all goes back to competition because if they're not playing hard we've got somebody we can put in."
